There are reviews that manage to capture something of the atmosphere waiting between its pages.
The review of The Shadows of Aetheria – The Sigil of Origin shared on Instagram by Daniela belongs, to me, to the second kind.
Through her words, she captured many of the elements that shaped Aetheria: mystery, forgotten legends, ancient knowledge, and that increasingly fragile boundary between what seems impossible and what might actually be real.

A world waiting to be discovered
One of the aspects Daniela appreciated most was the atmosphere of the novel.
Aetheria is not simply a backdrop for the story. It is a world built through mysteries, symbols, ancient libraries, secrets, and traces of a forgotten past that continue to reach into the present.
Her review captures this sense of immersion as Ewan and Meira begin to uncover what lies behind the clues scattered along their path.
Ewan, Meira, and a slow burn with no shortcuts
Another element that stood out to Daniela was the relationship between the two protagonists.
Ewan and Meira’s connection does not begin with instant attraction. It develops slowly, through trust, shared fears, and everything they are forced to face together.
In her review, she describes it as:
“one of the slowest slow burns I have ever read.”
And, in many ways, that slowness is deliberate.
I never wanted their relationship to overshadow the mystery at the heart of the story. Instead, I wanted it to grow alongside it, allowing every small gesture and shared moment to gain meaning as the story unfolds.
When a mystery stays with you
Daniela also describes the sense of immersion she experienced while reading: ancient libraries, mysterious symbols, Celtic legends, and the gradual discovery of a truth far greater than anything the protagonists initially imagined.
And then there is the ending.
An ending that, apparently, did not leave much room for patience.
“The ending is more than open, it is wide open, so I sincerely hope the next volume will be published soon!”
As an author, reading something like this is difficult to put into words.
It means knowing that, by the time she reached the final page, one reader simply wasn’t ready to leave Aetheria behind.

But there is one line from her review that stayed with me more than any other:
“I closed the book with the feeling that I had crossed a threshold alongside the protagonists, and as often happens with fantasy stories that leave a mark, a part of me remained there, among the shadows, the secrets, and the promises of Aetheria.”
Perhaps that is what every author secretly hopes for when they finally decide to let a story leave their hands.
That someone, after closing the book, hasn’t completely come back.
